Mass @ St. Patrick’s
Jeff,
The picture you took of St. Pat’s is spectacular. I am lucky to work only two blocks away from St. Pat’s. I attend mass there several times a month on my lunch hour. The priests are faithful and fervent, always giving meaningful homilies. They have confessions during the masses, which is convenient. I know this can be controversial for some, but in such a large edifice, it is no more disruptive than the constant stream of tourists taking pictures and oogling. They rope off the front during mass so people don’t cross in front during mass. The tablenacle is in the Lady’s Chapel behind the main altar. Security guards ensure that no one takes pictures or video in that area.
I haven’t listened to this episode yet, and just became aware of it when I opened your website. My itunes didn’t download to my iPod. I look forward to each episode, and learning something new about planes. When I was 17, in 1965, my thought was that if I were a man with good eye sight, I would have been a pilot. Neither of those are obstacles now, I understand.
I’ve been lobbying my brother-in-law, Greg, a former air force office to listen to your show. He’s retired but keeps busy volunteering at church. I’m looking forward to hearing his response to your show. I think he will enjoy it even more than I do, since he actually knows what you are talking about.
Best regards,
Mary Ward
