APG 120 – Holding, Weather Tools, and Dog Poop

Did you hear about the flight that had to divert because of dog poop? Yeah. That really stinks.

A Lufthansa A380 nearly ran out of fuel after an ocean crossing from Germany, due to very nasty weather in South Florida a couple of weeks ago. Reminds me of an experience I had that was very similar a few years ago.

Welcome to Tampa International, Japan Air Dreamliner! Oops. I guess the firetruck spraying the jet got a little too close.

Other news discussed: The Gulfstream IV crash at Hanscom Field, killing seven. A regional jet pilot allegedly smuggled 250 grams of cocaine into the US from Colombia, consisting of 62 “pellets” that he swallowed. Great plan… until one or more of the homemade pellet containers he fashioned from the fingers of rubber gloves failed, causing a visit to the local emergency room. Brilliant!
