    I did my major in Psychology on cognitive psychology. Cognitive psychologists warn constantly against automation. When someone drives a car, he is ‘in the loop’, and is able to correct when something goes wrong. When a pilot is merely overseeing automated systems, he is not in the loop anymore, isn’t completely aware what is going (lacks good situational awareness) on and will almost be too late correcting errors. This makes automated cars, airplanes extremely dangerous.
